About Oxycontin
OxyContin is a medication used to moderate to severe pain. It is a brand of timed-release oxycodone, made by Purdue Pharma, that works for up to 12 hours. Oxycontin contain the active ingredient oxycodone which belongs to a group of medicines called strong analgesics or ‘painkillers. Thus it is an opioid medication.
